Little Pea

my Acer desktop was gone case.. so till it is repaired, i can only blog, check emails and msn from workplace only.. sad.. and it is barely 2 years old.. *sigh*

wanted to blog about this song called “Little Pea”.. well, probably none of you all had heard it before.. cos it was composed by ME.. hahahaha.. my sis reminded me of this song yesterday..

it was composed years ago, when i’m still very young (in primary school perhaps).. at tat time i was kinda very involved in the ‘recorder’ ensemble.. i played the tenor.. hahah.. so at tat time, i tried to compose a song, “Little Pea”.. dont ask me y is little pea, okay.. i seriously dont remember.. but sadly, the song didnt go beyond 2nd verse.. hahaha.. maybe one fine day, i’ll complete tat song..

i’ve decided to stay and explore more.. the pay maybe low, but i kinda enjoy it here.. and i think the prospect here is better.. ultimately, as long as i’m happy, other issues dont matter.. =)

The frontier old man who loses his horse

one more week and i’ve worked for 1 month oledi.. time really past by very fast these days..

was having flu and a little feverish yesterday.. this morning, it became a pounding headache and the flu got worsen.. no choice but to take a no pay leave to recuperate..

i like the chinese idiom “塞翁失马，焉知非福”.. there was a story behind the idiom, but i’m lazy to write the story.. the point is, if something good happened, it may not necessarily turn out good.. if something bad happened, it may not necessarily turn out bad..

take my fever for example, some may say “poor thing, you got a fever”.. yeah, it may be bad.. but come to think about it, with the fever, i can take a day off from work.. with the off from work, i can go for my interview, which had been plaguing me for days.. hahaha..

on one hand, i wish i could get the job, cos better pay and benefits.. on another hand, i wish i dont get the job, then i dont have to quit my current job.. y i dont want to quit my current job? well, i kinda like it here.. the ppl here are nice.. and currently, they are short-handed.. if i quit now, i’ll feel bad..

oh well, no point worry too much.. wait till i really got the job, then worry.. hahaha..

It’s complicated

i know tat life is not tat simple, but i dont expect it to be so complicated either..

apparently my problem got worse.. it became more complex and i really dont know how to decide.. actually i sorta got my decision oledi.. but it is sure hard to execute my option..

think about it, i really dont know who to talk to..

it is about time for my PMS.. pardon me for the moodiness these days..

i just wanna gorge myself with food.. buffet anyone?

arrgghhh.. i really wanna move out.. my family is driving me crazy sometimes.. *sigh*

got a little sun burnt today.. from SPARKZ dry run at Botanic Garden.. my forearms are red and raw now.. neck also a little pain..

the Chestnut Production was hilarious.. but i think i prefer last year’s de.. still enjoyable.. but a bit too much sex ehhh.. can do better without so many sex reference.. oh well..

the valentine celebration started with movie at Tiong Bahru Plaza.. Benjamin Button.. the movie was okay only.. a bit boring in the middle and monotonous.. nevertheless, enjoyed the company..

dinner at Kenny Roger @ Great World City.. so full.. and we had a very weird argument..

to end off Valentine, a cup of drink at MacDonald will do the trick.. hahaha.. from TVB drama to the bitterness 7 years ago to the V cheers.. hahahah..

rarely do i get hangover after a night of alcohol.. today is one of those rare days.. hangover.. head pounding terribly..

celebrated LP’s b’day yesterday at Lunar (月).. not really a club, not really a bar.. a pub, perhaps.. first time there though.. very chinese place.. most songs played were in chinese, the waitress and waiter all speak chinese.. and the food menu, hahaha.. bak kut teh, carrot cake, chicken porridge.. i can imagine ppl eating bak kut teh with vodka or martini.. hahah..

LP was a bit drunk by the Flaming Lamborghini, thanks to our evil chao ah ting and almighty LCT.. hahaha.. i had quiet a lot of vodka yesterday too.. a bit tipsy, but not drunk.. i dont like to get drunk.. high and tipsy okay, but not drunk.. oh yeah, one bad point about Lunar, they dont have Kilkenny.. *sigh*

this event is organised by Raffles Junior College Interact Club and Anglo Chinese School (Independent) Interact Club.. the event will features myriad of VWOs, community services and service learning.. there will be talk, discussion and booth set-up by various organisations and youth themselves..

if you are interested to do community services do go and take a look.. or you can help to spread the words around.. thanks..

rosy said something today (or is it yesterday? KNS, i got STM) that is very true.. “if (they) wanna treat, (they) will treat”..

a little hint from me, dont expect tat i give everyone equal treatment.. if u dont get a treat from me, u know wat happen..

seriously, the 9pm mediacorp drama on the engineer thingy is sucky.. i cant bear to watch for even 5 mins.. obviously i cant make comparison with TVB drama.. but still the quality is not even a quarter of TVB dramas..

there will be some big shot coming to my office tomolo.. hahaa.. excited? not really, cos they are not there for me.. hahah..

My Work~

whee.. i was told today tat i could on my msn, blogging, check my private mail or even watch “youtube” at work.. as long as i do my work.. tat is so cool lah..

so i decided to blog from my work place..

just finished my first basic conversational english with the elderly.. not too bad.. some of them oledi knew quiet a lot, so i guess i’ll have to increase the difficulties..

i kinda fall in love with my work oledi..

by the way, for those who still dont know, i’m working at this community services centre at Kent Road.. My Centre @ Moulmein, under Viriya Community Services.. is a voluntary welfare organisation (VWO).. before anyone said “you mean you dont get paid?”, let me clarify, i’m a full time staff, i got paid okay..

basically i’ll have to organise, plan and execute activities, programme and events for the elderly.. so far, i’m in charge of aqua-aerobic, basic conversational english and slowly will take over “Learn My Dialect” programme.. hahaha.. not bad ehhh..

but this job got me thinking.. will i become like them one day? not tat it is a bad thing.. just wondering..

but i must say, i got a chance to visit one of the auntie today.. she stay in this 1-room flat.. really sad case, really small 1 room flat.. i wonder where is her children? or will i become like tat too? cos i intend not to get marry (=dont have children).. so will i become like her? *shudder*

anyway, i’m loving my job.. nice small cosy office with friendly colleagues.. the aunties and uncles here are nice and friendly too.. or at least i haven see them in bad mood or unreasonable state yet.. hope i’ll not see them like tat.. hahaha..

Black and White, Good and Bad

there is 2 sides to a coin.. and i guess there is 2 sides to everything.. and of course there is the whole spectrum of grey in between.. but lets just talk about the black and white..

lets start with the black, the bad.. first of all, i cant deny, the pay is low but i can survive on it.. the work place is a little far.. i'll have to lunch alone most of the time.. i'll have to deal with unreasonable and demanding ppl..

now the white, the good.. is almost a stress-free work place, with nice colleagues, gentle boss and funny elderly ppl around.. i can take buses to my workplace, which take me less than 45 mins to reach.. small office with no office politics, yet..

officially have my first staffs meeting.. was assigned more stuff to do, which is good, else i'll just have to stone in office.. will be taking over the "Learn My Dialect" programme, hopefully it will be fun!! whee~~ looking forward to my first Basic Conversational English lesson with the elderly too..

surprisingly, the new colleague, that join at the same time as me, said today tat he will be tendering his resignation.. so fast.. today was just the first day of his second week.. oh well..

if anyone is at Kent Road, Owen Road, Rangoon Road, Molmein Road, or near Novena area, KK hospital or Whompua area, please do have lunch with me.. else i'll have to have lunch alone, which i hate.. *sigh*

i wonder if i'll get any of my own namecards.. hahahah.. just a thought..

The First Week of Work

the first week of work went kinda okay.. not too bad, not too good.. so just okay..

1st: "you jing wu xian".. had to collect my temp work pass pending my PR approval.. then had to rush to and fro office and ICA to get it done.. but my boss surprised me when she said the working hours changed from 9 - 6 to 8.30 to 5.30.. *sigh* that means i have to wake up earlier.. was assigned to do 2 very simple but time consuming tasks.. not too bad..

2nd: a day of "zhuo-bo-ness".. my direct supervisor was on MC.. so nobody to assign me tasks.. continue on my yesterday tasks which were almost done.. didnt do much..

3rd: supervisor still on MC.. boss asked me to give some ppl some call.. more like a clerk.. hahaha.. another day of "zhuo-bo-ness" basically i just stone in front of my desk.. and aimlessly surf the net..

4th: supervisor came back.. haha.. mad rush to prepare for tomolo "Lou Hei CNY celebration".. but do menial stuff also.. like labeling the hampers, cut words for backdrop, photocopying..

5th: morning and afternoon were spent preparing for the "Lou Hei".. carry and arranged tables and chairs.. run errand to buy chopsticks and paper plates.. the celebration was kinda fun though.. surprising a lot of elderly came.. some really elderly, some look more like middle age aunties and uncles.. a bit hectic during the whole "Lou Hei" but overall everything went alright.. but i dont agree with my colleague's way of dealing with the food.. but wat can i do? i'm a new staff..

received a call from RC on friday to ask me to go for a job briefing and interview on saturday.. started my dilemma.. should i go or not? well, i still went on saturday for the briefing and interview.. hahaha.. and there will be another round of interview.. if this second round of interview is on weekdays, i wonder how am i going to take leave to go.. hahaha.. pondering.. and if i really got that job, how to tell my boss "i wanna quit"..  shall sleep over the problem..

well, i should get ready for the dim sum oledi.. muahahha.. going to have dim sum, finally!! waited for  very long le..

short update

2 days le.. hahah.. not bad after all.. but still need time to warm up with those aunties and uncles.. haha.. some are uber friendly, some not so..

first day of work was full of excitement.. a very long story indeed.. and i lazy want to type out now.. cos wanna sleep early.. very tired..

second day a bit boring, nothing much to do yet.. hahah..

things tat i'll be in-charge of: aqua aerobics and conversational english.. interesting ehh..

First Month's Pay

went to have a hair cut and after tat some shopping.. need to update my wardrobe with suitable clothes for work.. hahah.. seriously, i think my taste a bit weird different from other ppl.. i realise the designs and patterns and styles tat i choose are tend to be "ah pek" "honest" looking.. but heck care, i'm the one wearing, who cares wat other ppl think..

saw a few other stuff tat i wish i could afford.. *sigh* if only end of Feb will be here sooner.. and if only i got pay raise immediately.. hahaha.. thinking too much..

a few things i wanna do with my first pay, and maybe with my second and third and fourth and ..... nth pay.. (not in any order of preference):

• treat my family to "first month's pay" dinner
• treat my friends to "first month's pay" dinner (probably this will need to wait till second or third month.. hahha)
• buy the card wallet tat i always wanna get
• clear my debt ASAP
• get my first asset ASAP
• learn piano and/or guitar
• learn roller blading
• pamper myself
• live the life i always wanted
• study "Hospitality and Tourism" and/or "Social Work" (okay, i know i put Social Work in my new year's resolution, but ultimately my interest is to start a restaurant/cafe/bar, so i guess Hospitality and Tourism more suitable)

i know tat i cant force my thinking and opinions to other ppl.. i try my best to not dwell on it.. but some issues i just cant understand how other ppl cant agree with me.. simple logic and common sense..

gonna start my first day of work in 9 more hours.. wohoo~~ huat ar..

Reputation gone~

today i did something very terrible.. or rather wat i didnt do.. it will surely cost my reputation.. *sigh*

was supposed to terp today.. but i tot 31st Jan is Sunday.. but actually it was a Saturday, or rather today.. so i missed it.. when i realised my mistake, it was too late, it was way over oledi.. and surely this will cost me my reputation as a terp.. i apologised to the client through sms oledi.. but i think i better write a formal apology letter to my terp co-ordinator and the client.. 好事不出门，坏事传千里。

chill out at WS house again.. watched lotsa Stephen Chow old movies.. darn hilarious.. the blackjack session and wines were not bad too.. now i realised MT really really very naggy.. hahah.. like the Tripitaka in the Stephen Chow movie.. hahaha..

considering the bad economy and retrenchment everywhere, i should be happy to have a job.. but somehow i'm still not contented.. considering another route for my career.. should i or should i not? dilemma again..
