NS and New Blog

one thing about guys in Singapore (most, not all) is tat somehow, somewhere in the conversation, the topic of army, NS and equivalent will appear..

was talking to this shuttle bus drive while waiting for the shuttle bus from Punggol ferry point to Punggol mrt.. then the uncle suddenly mention about NS.. after hearing so much about NS from here and there, i tot i can smoke through and so, i pretend i'm singaporean and been through NS.. how i was wrong.. i cant smoke through this topic.. hahah.. cannot really answer his NS questions.. LOL

oh yeah, i'm starting a new blog.. http://ctrl-alt-shift.blogspot.com.. hahah.. well, i'll still update this blog, cos this is for my personal.. the new blog is a new concept.. i wanna make it like a commentary like tat.. i'll comment on certain topic and stuff.. mainly in response articles in the newspaper, internet or magazine tat i read.. haha.. stay tune and give response okay.. cheers~~

was fascinated by a couple yesterday.. i was walking in front of them and they were chatting in cantonese.. was always fascinated by ppl who speak cantonese.. but was so interesting was, they actually speak mandarin with their children.. y? how come their children dont know cantonese? because they dont like to learn or is it because the couple didnt teach them? sooner or later, all the dialect going to extinct, unless someone doing something about it.. *sigh*

was totally out of money.. surviving on my 'soda-pia' and instant noodles.. LOL

okay, back to my thesis frenzy~

Midnight Oil

time: 5.33 am

my first 'burn midnight oil' for my FYP thesis.. procrastinate too much and realise the dateline is next wednesday!! arrgghh.. i'm nowhere near the end beginning yet!! well, at least i planned out wat to write le.. so should be easier..

2 more weeks and i'm truly free.. but then again, have to worried about finding accomodation and job.. and have to worry about getting money for grad trip..

probably will be staying at my uncle's house, which is at paya lebar.. so far.. no longer west side le.. sob sob.. as for job, still no reply from those few resume tat i send out.. but still need to figure out wat kind of job i really want..

been into investment nowadays.. so if anybody got any tips, recommended readings, etc, please do let me know.. learning how to buy stocks now.. haha.. i so wanna get of the "rat race"!!

FYP Bangkok Trip

the new game show on Channel 8 sucks big!! the one on chinese de.. not nice at all.. bohoo~~ thumb down for it..

the queue for the new Subway in NTiU was freaking long.. and they got me the wrong order and without a plastic bag to carry when i said i want to take away.. *sigh* i simply dont like places with bad services.. my Table for Four MUST have fantastic services!!

3 days in Bangkok for my FYP.. my prof's house is big huge humongous freaking big!! a swimming pool and soccer field inside the house compound!! places to keep turtles and aviaries!! separate building for guest house!! got my own private toilet with bath tub!! 2 maids and 1 chauffeur!! freaking big!! so jealous!!

went Bangcock (see lah WP, you influenced me!! *sigh*) for my FYP.. go there to learn this phylogeny programme which is widely available on the net.. a bit waste of my time.. but oh well, i got to shop at Bangkok.. shopping at Bangkok was so different from Singapore.. for one, the shopping centre there more nice than Singapore.. all more atas!! haha.. sorry ppl, no souvenirs!! i dont know wat to get and also not much $$ to buy for everyone!! haha..

Chulalongkorn University is freaking big too.. took me very long to find the Veterinary Department.. the building is those "old" design type.. unlike the "modern" type in NTiU.. i kinda like it.. the building reminded me of EC (my secondary school)..

i still cant get over the fact that my prof's house is freaking big!! arrgghhh..

his two kids are so nice.. haha.. proper manners and, i would say, handsome, even though they still kids.. their friendly sibling rivalry reminded me of when i'm still small.. hahaha.. they are so 'xin fu' to get such nice parents.. AND a freaking big house!!

madam is nice too.. good hospitality and friendly.. wooo~~ enjoyed chatting with her too.. not just plain talking, got depth tat kind of talking.. hope to go Bangkok and visit them again.. perhaps end of the year..

missed my grandma's "da sou".. so wanted to go back to meet her.. i promised myself to go back Penang before the end of this year to visit her.. i MUST and i WILL!!

We Will Rock You Musical was fantastic!! thanks to WS for getting the ticket for me.. hahah.. but their merchandises are so ex!! a plain t-shirt is S$40, a key chain is S15!! ex ex ex.. fans of The Queen and Ben Elton should go watch!! "We will, we will, rock you!!"

wanted to blog about my Bangkok trip and We Will Rock You musical.. but too tired to do so right now..

perhaps tomolo i'll do it.. after my FYP thesis, my new story book, the half-finished korean drama and a good rest.. haha..

Weekends~

when can i have the Saturday and Sunday all to myself? where had all of my Saturday and Sunday gone to?

i just want to nua on the weekend.. but cant seems to do so.. yearning for the holiday.. but then again, need to work.. even if not permanent job, need to get some part time job to support myself.. broke..

my stomach ache like hell today.. dont know wat happen.. arrgghh..

it never pays to be kind? i wanted to believe that one good turn deserves another.. but i dont seems to be getting the good karma for being good.. *sigh*

on the related topic ~ wat happen to giving up your seats for the needy? i get weird stares from ppl in the trains and buses whenever i did tat.. how come?

FYP is progressing to the final stage i guess.. but nothing seems to be going my way from the very beginning.. well, i just hope to graduate in peace.. get a job and get rich.. hahaha..

Aching

dont know wat is wrong with my shoulder.. aching very badly.. funny thing is, only one side, the left side.. maybe is bad sleeping posture..

somehow in a foul mood again.. arrrgghh.. fuming mad at one time, highly disappointed at another.. heart aching too..

Treetop & Strudel

back to reality.. FYP starts again.. and hopefully will end on the 25th April..

MacRitchie and treetop hike!! high ar~~ not tat difficult.. just walk and walk.. but wore the wrong shoes.. make my feet ache.. arrgghh..

apple strudel at Upper Thompson was fantastic.. very nice!! the eclairs there was so so only.. service was bad too.. bohoo~~

talk about service, i'm very particular about service.. i dont like shop with bad service.. *bleh* bad attitude!!

watched Vantage Point too.. a very interesting movie.. but the ending a bit sucky.. could have end it better..

Soup, desserts and Olympic

dinner today at Soup Spoon, nice ehh.. the clam chowder was nice, but the salad a bit too sour for me.. heard the smoke salmon was too salty.. but i must say the soup really really really nice.. haha.. must try other soups.. and the price kinda affordable too..

2 serving of desserts for everyone at ah Chew.. whee~~ except for TL who was sick.. so sad.. impromtu celebration for Auntie's belated belated belated birthday.. hahaha..

applied for a few jobs le.. hope got good news.. but none lab based de leh.. all event managements de.. haha.. tempted by the Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee.. but can foresee tat it will be very busy and taxing.. hahaha..

Table for 4

i know wat i want to do le!! almost forgot my dream, to open a cafe/restaurant!!

so meanwhile, i'll just get any job, lab or event, save here and there, get the capital, start my cafe/restaurant!! whee~~ my cafe/restaurant will be called "Table for 4".. i got the concept out le.. will blog about it when i got time.. any investors?

nowadays, kids can use calculator when they are in Primary 5.. last time i only get to use calculator when i'm in upper Sec.. the bad point about letting kids use calculator so early is tat they become lazy and dependent on the calculator.. *sigh* seriously, wat is MOE thinking?

my tuition kid cannot even count 57 - 54 without the calculator.. i'm going to pengz.. he cant add, minus, multiply and divide without the calculator.. wat happen to the good old multiplication table? they dont use it in school anymore.. OMG~~ my two tuition kids cant even memorise beyond multiplication of 3!! oh gosh~~

on a brighter side, Swiss roll is fantastic~~ addicted..
