Successful Camp!! Hooray COR '06
back with aching muscle and missing dirty laundry... LOL
Camp Outreach 2006 had successfully concluded!!! it was fun and enjoyable.. truly enriching cos during this period, we stayed really close to ppl with hearing impaired.. a rare chance for most ppl.. how often do u encounter ppl with hearing impaired and how often do u stay and work closely with them?
personally this camp had let me learn a lot of things.. the most prominent improvement is my signing, both signing and receptive.. the experience of being an interpreter is very valuable, it can help boost my confidence.. can spur me on to further improve my signing..
secondly, it let me experience mountain climbing.. which in normal circumstance i wont go and try.. although dont enjoy the mosquitoes and leeches, the trek and mountain climbing still let me have fun!!!
working so closely with so many ppl allow me to know more about ppl.. different ppl will do things differently.. like it or not, u will have to follow your leader (i m not implying i dont like the leader ar).. not easy to work with ppl, but we still have to learn to work together.. no man is an island..
but wat disappointing is tat i didnt really open up my heart.. didnt really get close to much ppl in the camp, either main comm, subcomm, volunteer or the participant.. did get to know some of them better but i dare admit tat my heart is closed and i dont really want to get too closed with them.. i dont know y.. dont ask me also.. this is just me.. i m slow to warm up and once warmed, its hard for me to cool down.. tat is just me..
lastly, i think i leave behind my bag of dirty clothes somewhere.. i cannot find it anymore.. *sob sob* inside got my favourite giordano jeans!!! sigh.. so careless.. i cannot even remember where i put it.. sigh.. well, just have to be more careful!!
PS - next year will i join?? most prob is i will!!! =)
