So many things going on since my last post..

Was asked to sign up for a course on managing family violence.. Felt honoured and excited.. But then again, I hope to get the school counsellor role..

Made some blunder in my job.. Hope I will get over it soon..

Nothing seems to be going my way.. But when lift throws you a lemon, you make lemonade.. =) to me life is still wonderful..

Looking forward to my Cambodia trip!!

i am constantly thinking recently.. wat am i really gonna do for the next 40 years? am i going to continue like now, aimless and just wandering around? these thoughts had been plaguing me recently.. help!!

there are so many things tat i want to do.. yet, i cant really define wat it is.. this and tat, tat and this.. how can i know wat i really want? do i really have to try all before i know it?

my b’day gonna come soon.. 2 more days.. LOL.. cant wait for the dinner on friday with Zionites and on Saturday with the Westie.. miss them..

something is brewing and it will be launched soon.. hopefully it will follow the schedule and be launched in September.. not going to tell you wat is it.. u all just have to wait till September.. hahaha..

my sis just started working this week.. cool sh*t lah.. job hunt for less than 2 months only.. unlike me, have to job hunt for almost a year.. *sigh*.. and her salary is super high.. start with a 3.. sad sad sad.. now i wonder if my salary is too low.. doubting my decision now..

anyway, 10 more days!!! muahahaha..

i shall be obvious, i dont mind receiving books, book vouchers, ipad or iphone 4G.. LOL.. i guess, book vouchers bah.. unless you know wat kind of books i like.. hahaha.. =)

Morning jog

Woke up early in the morning on Friday to go jogging with my friend at Botanic Garden.. Jogging + strolling around.. Followed by a nice brunch and a good cup of coffee at a nice cafe.. This is life!!

How I wished everyday is like tat..

There is this nice cafe near Hotel Miramar.. Nice cosy ambience.. Food okay.. Suitable for a lazy afternoon.. We all should go once a while..

This actually further stimulate my desire to own my own business.. I will never be able to have the life I want if I am an employee my whole life.. I must break out of this employee position to be boss!! Haha..

i think i know wat is the matter with me oledi.. i am trying to bite off a bigger bite than my mouth can handle.. i am taking on too many things than i can handle.. too many things on my plate..

i guess it stems from my eagerness to prove myself.. and somehow it backfired!! things didnt really seems to go my way..

time to slow down and sort out my priority.. 80-20 rule.. 80% of the result comes from 20% of effort.. so just focus on the 20% of effort right not.. do not try to handle more than i can..

predicting hectic weeks ahead.. with all the case works, special project, need assessment, volunteer management, on-going project and normal admin duties.. how to stretch myself to the limit? i am a slacker by nature.. hahaha..

and i heard that they are going to have a meeting to discuss about salary review.. i wonder if i will have a review of salary too.. hahaha..

it kinda hurtful, you know, knowing tat your friends change their habits or behaviours for their loved one.. while all the time before they got their bf or gf, you had been saying the same thing or encouraging the same thing.. oh well, i guess tat is life..

i feeling a little ‘airy’ now.. like on cloud nine..

something amazing happened today.. a friend from my primary school added me in Facebook.. 14 years we haven meet each other oledi and yet she still can remember me.. touched..

after she added me, she send me the link to my primary school, specifically, our batch, fan page.. OMG.. all my primary school friends are there.. so excited to meet them..

some i can still remember, some i have vague impression and some i really cannot remember.. the good old days all came rushing back.. those silly things tat i did.. those boyish games.. those teachers, friends and places, all flash past my mind.. overload..

i wonder wat will happen from now on.. will long forgotten friendship be rekindled? anxious, nervous and excited at the same time.. mixed feeling..

i dont think i can sleep tonight.. too excited..

Banana Ice-cream

i made another batch of ice-cream yesterday.. the taste is okay.. but the texture and smoothness still need to improve.. now i have to big tub (500ml x 2) to finish.. LOL..

was having a discussion with TL today, about wat to do and future planning.. insightful..

whenever i tell my friends tat i’m doing social work, the first response will surely be “tat suits you very much” or “isn’t tat wat you want?” or something similar.. well, i agree, i enjoyed it.. i like it.. but tat is not my first choice of career.. tat is not wat i want to do when i’m in my forties or fifties.. i want to own a cafe or ice-parlour or restaurant or bar or something similar..

well, right now i’m thinking really hard each day.. do i want to take up further qualification in social work or do i take up further qualification in F&B.. *sigh*

a week of unexpected

the last few days were all filled with spontaneity and meet up without much planning.. an unexpected week..

it all started with watching Alice in Wonderland with WP on Wednesday night.. the movie was so so only.. followed by supper near fong seng, but we ate this super thick mango sago instead.. hahah.. and the walk back to PGP with WP, the “korean” exchange student was hilarious.. not to forget the Jagabee song kept playing in our head.. LOL..

Thurs was spontaneous dinner/dessert and slight shopping with Ibu.. coincidentally my tuition kid cannot make it for tuition, thus began our dinner/dessert at Bakerzin.. the pasta was okay only.. there is better pasta around.. and i realised i really like pasta a lot.. hahah.. bought 2 CDs too.. classical music (yes, i like classical music!! dont be surprised) and a jazz lullaby.. hahaha.. interesting ehh..

lastly, supper session with WP again resulting from our MSN chatting.. amazing!! retail therapy at NTUC, but hei, tat was fun too!! hahaha.. should have gotten that kopi “kong” and the lemon presser and the ice-cream scoop.. hahah.. so many things to buy at NTUC.. LOL

and wat more, my Bangkok trip was spontaneously cancelled too.. due to the rioting at Bangkok.. *sigh* wasted all my money on the air ticket, accommodation and travel insurance.. all gone down the drain!! sigh.. oh well, then i can just use the weekend to really rest.. cheers..

Relationship

many people failed to realise that relationship depends on both side.. any relationship.. BGR, parents-child, employer-employee, friends, or neighbours..

we need to reciprocate.. we need to response.. we need to take and give.. if the relationship is only one sided, then surely there will be strains, barriers, unhappiness, dissatisfaction, etc..

it is really not easy to maintain a relationship.. trust, communication, respect, tolerance, and many things more.. nobody said it is easy..

anyway, enjoyed the batam trip.. though we didnt do much, but the break away was much needed.. just to nua and slack and just lie around.. the massage at the end was good too.. hahah.. now, i’m looking forward to my Bangkok trip.. hahah..

i am not sure who i discussed this with before, but i really remember i talked to someone on this topic before..

though i crave for companionship, i am totally okay with being alone too.. shopping alone, movies alone, or lunching/dinner-ing alone.. but i will usually avoid lunching/dinner-ing alone.. it may seems pathetic and sad, but hei, i’m totally okay with it.. then again, there are things tat are more fun if do together with friends..

anyway, watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief today.. awesome.. nice.. looking forward to other movies from the same series too.. hope they will make 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.. hahah.. waiting for a the release of a few other movies too..

at the beginning of the year, i actually wanted to host 2 parties this year.. 1 for just having fun, the other 1 for my birthday.. hmmm.. i wonder if tat will happen.. hahah..

i’m amazed by the amount of food i ate these 2 days.. gosh.. the amount of cholesterol and calories.. oh no..

the weekend started with Jumbo Seafood @ Boat Quay.. chilli crabs with the all time favourite fried bun (mantou).. tofu with spinach, sambal kangkong, seafood paste wrap in bacon, fried seafood malay noodle.. ooohhhlala~~

Ichiban Boshi with my 2 sisters on Saturday night.. another night full of food.. sushi, sashimi, beef, soft shell crabs.. and i still have stomach for Koi bubble tea.. big cup of grass jelly milk tea.. and not to forget the “ma lai kao” from the famous bun shop at TPY.. anyone has the recipe for “ma lai kao”? i love it!!

sausages, waffles and bubble tea again on sunday..

oh yeah, my weekly mahjong is back!! hahaha.. loving it.. but i realise i lose most of the time.. bohoo~~

no wonder my waistline is not shrinking.. really gotta work harder.. hahaha..i think i gained about 1.5kg since CNY.. oppsy..

CNY period is the time to get fat.. surprisingly, i didnt put on weight at all.. hahaha.. good news!! all the bak kwa, mandarin oranges, pineapple tarts and peanuts didnt add on at all.. *phew* what a relieve!!

speaking of bak kwa, i got a new name, given to me today.. Mr. Guava Chong Bak Kwa.. kinda long story.. given to me by my colleague.. hahaha.. is either that or Apple (so girl-y right?).. i think i prefer Guava Chong Bak Kwa.. cos is more cool.. LOL..

well, things didnt go on tat smoothly at work.. right after the CNY long weekend, i had to clear some sh*t.. some big pile of sh*t.. well, now left with a few smaller pile of sh*t.. should be able to chear everything by the next week!!

i hate Ms. Lim CT.. i hate Mr. J*e Yap.. one got to fly to Chile and the other to Switzerland.. i got nothing!! all i have was police coming to my centre and some shouting and angry man!! hahah.. but tat itself is kinda interesting.. it made the whole office buzzing.. but my poor colleague have to deal with him, and she is quiet shaken by that experience.. hope she coping okay with tat..

did i mentioned i’m taking on some interesting cases? hahah.. started those cases with youth-at-risk too.. cool.. did my first home visit today too.. but i dont think i performed tat well today.. nervous.. and i still think i lack the skills and practice to do simple counselling!! how?? been reading up recently, and hopefully it will be helpful!!! hahaha..

for the past few days, i kinda feel a little stressed out.. kinda stifled..

and so today, i was at MacD.. and i finished up 2 big packets of french fries.. was eating lotsa junk food recently also..

by the way, today was my organisation D&D.. Bollywood theme.. so cool.. stuff myself with food, had a great laugh, won some back-scrub/eye treatment voucher (which i gave to my colleague).. muahahaha.. i think i will stay for a while more.. not much photos taken though..

start to like my job

it is official.. i will be working 2 days at Pioneer at the Family Services Centre.. in fact i had been working there for 2 weeks le.. hahaha..

the job scope is so different from wat i'm doing now.. i would be doing casework there.. sort of like social work.. helping ppl with their problem, especially financial problem.. i would be in-charge of mostly financial problem..

heard tat i will be part of the team tat deals with teens who drop out of school.. like a youth worker.. so cool~~ cant really wait for it to start..

wanted to take on the role of volunteer coordinator and fund raiser too.. but am a bit worried about too many commitment.. hahaha.. perhaps i should settle down and get use to the casework workload first before taking on other stuff..

though last year, i had been wanting to quit.. but based on current situation, probably i will stay longer.. hahaha.. i start to like my job now~~ wohoo~~

Whenever I pass by those landed properties and apartments on my way back I'll be wondering when I can own one.. *sigh*.. With the current progress I don't think I can get one in the next ten years lah.. I don't want to be filthy rich, just well to do is enough for me..

Having lots of mix feeling.. Uncertainty.. What exactly will the future holds for me? I will never know.. But I think I can work hard.. It will never go wrong with hard work, right? But I'm a nua-ster!! Hahaha..

had a few interesting conversion with a few people throughtout the week.. with Mr. N about poverty in Singapore even though the economy is doing well and how 300 meant a lot to some people yet we waste it like water.. with Ms. R about taking the leap of faith and wat is holding her back from taking tat big step towards her dreams.. with Ms. Y about being alone when you didn't get married.. i m totally cool about it.. with Ms. C about being afraid to die and wat next after you die..

by the way, I think I like bukit timah area a lot now.. not because it is rich people area, but because of those nice cosy shops.. and there is Udders there..

i m surprises tat a lot of taxi drivers do not know where is bukit timah nature reserve..

feeling hungry now.. shall go and search for food.. hahaha..

2010 Resolutions

finally got my 2010 resolution out.. hahaha..

the important thing to do when setting up goals (or in this case, resolution), is to follow the S.M.A.R.T.. specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time.. have 8 main goals to achieve this year..

1. Work/Vocational

- to do my best in my work and attain at least B in my June and Dec performance review

2. Finance

- to build up my emergency fund of at least 3 months salary by end of 2010 (3x2k=6k)

3. Health & Fitness

- to lose my extra weight to either 65 kg or waistline 32 inches by end of 2010

- to incorporate regular exercise (at least once a week) into my life and sustain it throughout the year

4. Relationship

- to start on my parents' biography. to get at least their childhood stories till they are in primary school

5. Love Mother Nature

- to reduce wastage of natural resources by eliminating all Styrofoam in my life

6. Volunteering

- in addition to current volunteering commitment, I must participate/initiate a new volunteering/community project by end of 2010

7. Others

- to learn guitar and be able to play at least 2 simple songs by end of 2010

- to start planning and building for my cafe

well, well, well.. wat do u all think? at least something to do in 2010.. well have to wait till end of 2010 to see if i achieve any of it or not.. hahahah..

Sardine and Tuna

after working for about 11 months, today was the first time i became sardine in the packed train cabin!! hahaha.. and i guess more of sardine life for me in the coming future..

like i mention previously, i will be posted to another centre 2 days a week to do some of the case work.. mainly financial related.. cos i cant do counselling and stuff yet.. hahaha.. went tot he centre for some briefing today.. really excited to start.. hahaha..

this new year is really like a new beginning for me.. got a sudden renewal!! taking up a few new project too.. after tomolo, the whole year plan will be more conceptualize.. more solid.. wont be tat lost anymore.. wohoo~~~

oh yeah, i sort of come out with my new year resolution oledi.. though a bit late, but better late than never.. hahah.. will post it up next time.. =)

how 2010 like? i cant remember much.. just fragments of here and there..

job hunting in Jan.. started working in Feb.. started my Psychology in April.. mahjong with CT and Fir in later half of the yellar too.. on and off.. here and there.. promoted to programme executive in june.. lotsa bubble tea.. pondering alot about my future and wat i really want..

i may not be a champion in environment friendly movement, but i do care for the mother earth.. i try not to use the air-conditioner when I’m alone in office.. i try to switch off my comp when I’m away for more than 30 mins..

it is ironic that the new shopping mall, City Square, was called an eco-friendly mall, but they do provide shuttle buses.. and these shuttle buses are rarely full.. is tat wat they call environmentally friendly mall?

the recent Climate Conference at Copenhagen dont seems to be any impact at all.. or at least, the impact is not visible yet..

the irony: ppl are trying to combat the climate change and yet in S’pore ppl rejoice over the new fully air-conditioned bus interchange at Boon Lay.. i already frowned when the TPY air-conditioned interchange started operating years ago.. now another one.. no wonder we are experiencing weird climate these days..

if ppl do not start making changes, i fear the worst is yet to come..

some ppl will say "life is short, so why rush?".. but there are also ppl tat say "life is short, so why waste it?".. which category you belongs to? i would very much want to choose the former, but i had wasted my 24 years.. need to start buck up and catch up with the lost time.. must pia now.. life is short, so why waste it.. i won't want to regret at my death bed..

working in social service sector surely wont bring me the monetary reward tat i want.. it is the happy face on the beneficiaries, the "thank you", the appreciation from other ppl, the satisfaction in the volunteers' face, the warm and touching moments..

but we cannot forget that a lot of people, even some of the beneficiaries, take us for granted.. ethically we are obliged to serve you, but please get you facts right.. you want helps and yet so demanding and with attitude..

the event on the 20th went on quiet smoothly.. though have bumps here and there.. i wont say it was a fantastic event, but at least still acceptable (in my humble opinion).. thanks to all those tat offered to help.. WS, Ibu, MY, RM, and all the other volunteers..

will you ever get the feeling of lonely even though you are surrounded by friends?

making tat leap

i went to help a senior citizen from my workplace to get something from her house.. it is big.. nice cosy spacious.. in fact, too spacious.. she told me tat she is living all alone with her cats.. her son rarely come back though she still kept his room intact.. it is a little heart wrenching.. an elderly living all alone.. wat is happening? how can children just leave their parents alone?

visited TL today too.. kinda relieve to know tat he is still as crappy as usual.. means he is okay.. life is unpredictable.. so live life to the max.. or you can just slack all you want, cos you wont know wat will happen next.. hahaha..

having said tat, i still do not have the courage to make the leap of faith.. quoting rumina "i am sure that the work you do is valuable too".. but now i'm having doubt in myself too.. am i really doing something valuable? it maybe true.. but at the same time i am barely surviving every month.. i wont be getting my house, my car (not tat i wanna get it), my retirement if i stuck to this same field.. seriously having second tots.. if only i dont have loan to repay, then i'll make tat leap..

wat i'm afraid of, after a few years and i have already repaid my loan, i will be so complacent and so used to the stability, tat i wont make tat leap of faith anymore.. *sigh*

it's complicated and i need some excitement in life..

yong peng tour with the elderly was interesting.. though had a fair share of joy and frustration, it is still very enjoyable.. thanks for the gang tat willing to go with me too!! hope the $55 was well worth it.. too bad we didnt go for the midnight show.. everybody seems to be rushing home.. =(

sometimes talking to fir is a little depressing.. young, kinda rich, started a few business.. *sigh* how?? quarter life crisis..

went for my personal training just now to prepare myself for Mount Kinabalu.. wohoo~~ nice to have a beach to jog.. but then the view is not tat fantastic and it is the holiday season now.. filled with teenagers BBQ-ing and PDA-ing every where.. arrgghh.. get a room please..

i really dont like having meeting or discussion with my Vice President.. not tat she is very fierce or demanding.. she is too motivating.. every time after the meeting or discussion, i ended up motivated.. and it is not good if i want to resign.. *sigh* but i must agree, next year will be an exciting year.. i shall stay till mid of next year and see how first.. if really exciting, then i’ll stay.. if it is the same, then i’ll resign and join MOE as counsellor.. hahaha..

have you ever felt that you are going to die? i did!! just now when climbing Bukit Timah.. hahaha.. there are many reports on atheletes die due to insufficient rest and sleep.. and i almost become one of them.. though i am not an athelete..

mahjong till 2 am, supper till 3am, finally get to doze off at 4am, then cousins arrive at 5am and woke me up.. then doze off again and finally woke up at 7.30am to go climb Bukit Timah.. gosh, i almost fainted.. it also shows that my stamina is really lousy.. needa train more before i can conquer the Mount Kinabalu next year.. chiong arrr..

was reading a story book at Popular on Sun.. is a well known story of the Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde.. though i had read many version of it, and read it many times, the story never fail to touch my heart.. i like the ending where the God ask the angel to bring him 2 most valuable things from earth to Him and the angel brought him the lead heart of the Prince and the corpse of the bird..

not much progress in my work.. stuck with all the menial stuff to settle.. i wanted to initiate a few projects.. but i guess now is not the timing yet.. but i am definitely going to push ahead with some of my project.. i really think those projects are really good projects.. hahaha.. praising myself..

just got back from Phuket.. my 3rd visit there and it is still attractive to me.. i really like life by the beach..

got myself a few things from Phuket.. first of all, a (not so) dark tan.. a waist pouch.. a bag.. a vase.. a bracelet.. a t-shirt.. 2 books.. and spent kinda alot there this time.. about S$400.. opps.. a bit way beyond my budget.. but oh well, oledi spent, so have to eat bread for the next few days.. hahaha..

Phuket Fantasea, islands hopping, seafood, bar and pub, gay bar, shopping, town tour, Patong beach, the sun, the sea and the beach.. love it all!!

overall, it was a fun trip with LF and KK.. first time on holiday with them though.. interesting.. may not have second time though, cos LF is getting married next year!! gosh, didnt expect her to get married so soon..

when it comes to donate blood, i always get agitated when ppl are indifferent!! how could they? do you know tat the one packet of blood that you donate can save not only 1 but a few lives!! isn’t tat a good enuf reason to go donate?

i always advocate, it is the heart tat matter.. but in this case, the action matter more.. please please please go and donate blood.. dont be indifference!!

blood is the only thing you can donate again and again.. so why not just donate? the money you donate, once gone, it is gone.. the time you volunteer, once gone, is gone.. but blood will be replenished within 1 days.. so why not??

went to RSPHI volunteers orientation on tuesday.. i wonder how big is the gap now?? but who cares.. hahaha.. had my fair share of fun too.. i dont understand y ppl always stress the age gap?? i feel young and i am still young.. who cares about the age gap..

major disaster today at work.. *sigh*.. let down a sponsor and hope that i can salvage the situation.. well, i think i am the one who cause the disaster at the first place.. *sigh* first time feeling so bad and first time i can’t fix the situation.. arrgghh.. all my fault..

read something totally unbelievable today in the Sunday Times.. i do not understand why Singaporean (sorry, i have to differentiate here, usually i dont differentiate myself with Singaporean) care about the “standard rate” for giving angpow for wedding.. oh gosh, this is one of the Singapore culture tat i can’t understand..

giving the couple an angpow during wedding is just a gesture of congratulating them.. a gesture of good will, of wishing them happiness and for chinese is for the auspicious.. so wat with the standard rate?

礼轻情义重。 so wat matter most is your heart.. how sincere you are.. if i’m the groom, and i know u are rather unwilling to pay for the standard rate angpow, i rather u dont give at all.. i wouldn’t want ppl to feel pressured to give me angpow.. i rather receive an angpow of S$10 but out of sincerity than S$188 out of pressure..

similarly, if i am sincere about giving S$10 as an angpow, i’ll just give S$10.. i wont give more just because the standard rate is otherwise.. i believe whoever receive my S$10 can surely feel my sincerity..

of course if i am able to and i think it is worth it, i will give more than the standard rate too.. especially if it is for my close friends.. heck care about the standard rate.. totally rubbish..

i will never give angpow based on the standard rate.. cos i think our friendship and my blessing to them is not measured in term of money.. it should run deeper than tat.. the angpow is ultimately for auspicious gesture only!!!

A New Chapter

i am hoping to write a new chapter in my life story.. but i am still a little hesitant.. hesitant about wat, you may ask.. but i myself is unsure about it..

at times if wonder if i made the correct decision.. but no point regretting about it, cos till now there is no time machine yet.. all i can do is look forward and hope tat my future decision will be more fruitful..

i wanna apply for this position of counsellor at MOE.. as school counsellor.. wonder if i can get it.. i just keep my fingers cross..

well, life is unpredictable.. just on last thursday, attended my friend’s wake.. yup, my friend passed away.. well, more like an acquaintance.. a bit regretful tat i didnt get to know him better.. may him have peace in his afterlife.. and may his family find solace tat he will be happy in his afterlife..

life is just like a fluttering butterfly.. fragile and yet full of life.. cherish you life, live life to the fullest..

a discussion with Fir yesterday in his car somehow make everything into perspective.. if fear paralyze you from trying, the you will never achieve success.. if you look at the history of all successful people, no one had never fail before.. failing is just a part of success.. dont let fear of failure paralyze you..

NAMA chocolate

went to the Singapore Flyer today.. hahaha.. not bad ehh.. but seriously, not tat fantastic.. okay only.. i was there with a bunch of aunties and seniors.. was there on a tour with the ppl from my workplace.. enjoyed the company more than the view though..

dinner afterword with WP at the Borders Bistro.. wanna have the cheese cake there.. but was sold out when we were there.. totally disappointing lah.. *sigh* the pasta was not bad too and according to WP who likes pork so much, the hotdog was not bad.. i still wanna have the cheese cake!! hmmm..

and off we go to taka to get the NAMA chocolate that WP likes so much.. from Royce.. not cheap eh.. S$15 for a box of 20 small pieces.. but i must admit, it was good!! ohh la la.. the smooth chocolate with the subtle hint of champagne and the slight bitter of the cocoa powder.. shiok!!

managed to catch Year One too.. it’s a movie, if you dont know.. not bad.. funny.. laugh from beginning to the end.. but got a few stomach churning scenes though.. *spoiler ahead* the part where the guy ate the shit and the rubbing of chest hair thingy.. arrgghh.. almost vomited..

and now here i am back in my home to blog.. tired.. and gotta work tomolo..

on a side note, i dont know wat went over me.. i agreed to take up another tuition assignment.. i’m seriously so tied up lah.. weekdays are fulled of tuition and night classes.. not i agreed to another tuition, i burned my weekends too.. so guys, dont expect to see me much from now on.. occasional dinner or movie is fine, just dont expect too much yeah..

2 days ago, i went to the NLB and borrowed this audio book.. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow (audio book).. interesting.. i had tried audio book before, but those are instructional audio books.. this time is a story audio book.. hahaha.. very interesting..

you see, this Harry Potter audio book was read by a guy.. and funny things happen when it came to the dialogue part.. cos this guy try to pretend to be girls when it came to female part of the dialogue.. and it was super funny.. and i kept “am-chio” when i’m listening it in office while doing stuff.. and my colleague tot i’m crazy.. hahaahah..

but hor, audio book really super convenient.. i think i fall in love with it oledi..

things at work are partly smooth partly not smooth.. certain projects are going on well, some are not.. *sigh* and i got this intense urge to start my own business etc.. and it is not helping at all.. torn between staying and pursuing my dreams.. and i think i will one day quit, but i just dont know when.. and i hope it will be soon!!

i missed out the NLB book sales.. darn.. and i tot tat i can get ~~lotsa~~ a few books to slowly read and enjoy.. guess, i’ll have to be contented with borders or just have to wait for the next NLB book sales.. hahaha

sometimes, i wished i have the courage to do the leap of faith.. or hope tat someone push me from the back.. well, one of these days (and it should be soon), i will have the courage to do the leaping..

getting a little sluggish and slow at work.. being suddenly pushed to be the ‘leader’, i need to quickly master a lot of things.. motivating others are very important.. so is leading a discussion/meeting.. and how do you work with stubborn ppl who resist any new suggestion??

yesterday TOTO was 3 million jackpot!! and i spent S$13 to buy and i didnt win anything.. bohoo~~ and i tot i got this feeling tat i will win something.. hahaha..

okay, before u all say i’m a gambler, i must clarify.. i’m not.. i only buy if there is like big jackpot.. cos like my father say, “buying a hope”, why not? if really win, then good.. but if didnt win, it’s okay too, cos just a few bucks.. not tat i spent my entire savings or something like tat.. haha..

kinda scary that day after day, week after week, month after month, time just passes by.. without me realising it, i oledi worked for 7 months!! tat is so scary.. and without me realising it too, i will be in my 65 years old oledi and ready to retire.. arrgghh.. i dont want!! i still have plenty of stuff to do!!

Fir birthday celebration yesterday at Zsofi Tapasbar was indeed interesting.. interesting place.. nice cosy ppl with partial zionites ppl and not to forget Fir’s brother interesting performance.. hahaha.. the part on the drunken guitarist was hilarious, but i think tat was purely spur of the moment, not rehearsed..

3 glasses of shots, 1 glass of beer and 0.5 glass of mixer.. had a bit of hangover and i need all my concentration to walk back from the bus stop to my door step.. first time being so close to getting drunk.. hahah..

there are still lotsa things tat i haven finish or get to start.. *sigh* i wonder when i’m going to stop procrastinating?? my food blog, my parents’ biography, learning my chinese, start my restaurant/cafe, travelling..

ppl are simply so busy nowadays.. cant really catch them.. and they are all perpetually busy at work.. not tat is a bad thing, i just not used to it..

whee~~ finally my Acer desktop was fixed.. oh gosh.. within 2 years, i called the help desk like countless times.. changed RAM, changed motherboard, changed the CD-ROM.. i cant help to wonder wat they are going to change for me..

work wasnt so smooth this week.. bumpy ride.. i even consider quitting and be a full time tuition teacher.. i seriously wanna do so.. but every time after i had a talk with my VP, things seems to be brighten up.. but i still considering being a full time tuition teacher.. just not now.. maybe a year later.. or a year and a half later.. seriously i cant be in this job for forever..

and i tot i’m over it oledi.. but it is still a thorn in my heart.. i’m still very bitter about it.. and i dont know wat to do to make peace with it.. *sigh* if you all know wat i’m talking about, just dont mention it in front of me..

keep ‘ponteng’-ing my psychology lessons.. oppsy.. but the lecturer is really boring.. cant stand it.. hahaha.. last semester result was okay only.. not too fantastic.. hope this time round can get a distinction.. hahaha..

oh yeah, phuket trip anyone?? in october.. i’m calculating the cos now.. surely less than S$300 for accomodation and air tickets.. anybody onz?? can still lower it if we choose a “not so good accommodation”.. onz?? in october.. probably second or third week of october..

Phuket, revisited

just back from Phuket.. but without a tan, souvenir or even ice wine.. but got a Davidoff fragrance.. haha..

short get-away with my cousins and sisters over the weekend.. short nice trip.. with some highs and lows though..

the trip kicked-off at early Saturday morning where everyone woke up at 4.30am to prepare for the flight at 7.30am.. arrived at Phuket very early and the trip start with some cruising around in charted van to various places in Phuket.. and those places were places that i didnt managed to get to go on my first trip to Phuket with CT, TT and XXY..

visited the big buddha statues and this “Wat”.. then had some shopping done.. i think i spend most of my time in hotel room watching movies.. hahah.. watched 4 movies continuously from this channel that shows only movies, without advertisement also.. hahha.. fantastic 4, ninja turtles, hitman, behind enemy line.. wohoo~~ shiok siah..

something bad happened when i went to swim though.. dislocated my shoulder again!! *sigh* and made a big huh-hah for everyone.. but then again, i told them it was okay de.. they themselves wanna made a big huh-hah.. not me.. oh well..

the seafood spread on Sunday night was so-so only.. i think the previous trip with CT, TT and XXY had a better seafood spread..

didnt really go to the beach though.. mostly spend the time in hotel, around hotel or in the van travelling from places to places.. and cos the girls wanna do shoppping, so most time was spent on shopping..

missed the drinking sessions also.. cos i was too tired and went back early to sleep..

when coming back, i’m so excited to get my ice wine at duty free prices.. but my excitement was crushed when i was told that if i transit from Malaysia i cant get the duty free price.. so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so sad.. shouldn’t have transit at malaysia, should have flown back straight away, save time and can get my ice wine.. *sob sob*

but oh well, gotten my long dreamt of fragrance.. Davidoff Adventure.. gotten my sis Chanel Chance also.. spent kinda a bit on those two.. but i think worth it lah..

Though owning a cafe is my ultimate dreams, but i wanna try out being a life coach also.. i wonder how to do so.. wat qualification do i need? shall work out on this area..

work is smoother now.. this month is the appraisal month, excited and nervous at the same time.. i wonder how the appraisal works and how it will turn out to be.. gotten my promotion letter but still waiting for my final salary increment.. muahahhaha.. i wonder how much.. really hope my salary will go above 2K.. but i highly doubt so..

MJ’s songs and music videos are playing everywhere nowadays.. i got hook up with the MJ fever too.. addicted to Thriller, They Don’t Really Care About Us and Heal The World.. keep repeating it on Youtube.. really like Heal The World music video.. really touching and make me ponder.. would i go all out to do humanitarian work? tat used to be my dreams.. but like i mentioned in my previous post.. there is a difference between reality and dream, and they dont really overlap..

lotsa things going through my mind these few days.. need some time to sort things out.. a bit cluttered and cant really think properly.. going to make some resolution soon.. resolved to do a lot of things!! will publish it here soon.. and hopefully will see it through..

it was horrible, horrible, nothing else but horrible!!!

the event yesterday went all wrong.. nothing was right.. i really felt like digging a hole and bury my head yesterday.. all hay wired!!

the sound system was horrible.. ppl in a mess.. not-so-happy sponsor..

arrrgghh.. i dont even know how to face some of my other colleague from other centres!! to them i’m the one in-charged of this event.. but the truth is i only clean up this shit after other ppl.. and i wound say, i had already cleaned up most of the shit lah..

feeling terribly bad now.. and my other stuffs are all bottled necked!! had to do OT today or tomolo.. sianz..

but thankz to the dinner yesterday with the Zionites gang.. they really cheered me up!! wohoo~~ the food at Oriole was nice.. i like the Prawn Spaghetti.. the bread and butter pudding was so-so only.. where should we go next time??

My very first home made ice cream

the fruit of my labour!! enjoying a bowl of ice-cold lemon yoghurt ice-cream.. a little too sour though.. cos i put more than the amount of lemon juice indicated.. cos i tot dont wanna waste the lemon, so just squeezed the whole lemon in.. now is a little too sour.. and also dont have a kitchen weighting machine, so use ‘agar-ation’ for the amount of sugar.. LOL..

and a little too hard and not as ‘creamy’ and ‘soft’.. maybe didnt whisk enuf.. oh well, will try again to perfect the recipe.. hahah.. overall, not bad ehh.. rating: 3 out of 5 ice-cream cones!!!

Lemon Yoghurt Ice-cream

here is the recipe of lemon yoghurt ice-cream.. i tried it at home today.. still waiting for it to freeze right now.. i wonder how it will be.. hahaha..

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons lemon juice
500ml Greek yoghurt
150 ml double cream
100g castor (increase or decrease according to your preferance of sweetness)

Steps:

Mix the lemon juice, yoghurt, double cream and castor sugar in a mixing bowl.
Mix everything well together.
Transfer the mixture to a freezer-proof container.
Freeze uncovered for 1-2 hours or until it just begin to set around the edges.
Stir the “semi-frozen” mixture with a fork or alternatively beat in a food processor.
Return to freezer and freeze for 2-3 hours or until firm. Cover the container with a lid for storing.

To serve:

Remove the ice-cream for the freezer and leave at room temperature for 30 minutes or until it soften slightly.
Spoon into a bowl and serve.

so when u donate for those flag day or you volunteer, or you offer your help, is it really altruism or is it egoism?

i admit, sometimes when i volunteer, is because of egoism..

but we are not saying altruism is better or egoism is better.. is just the fact of life.. not everyone is like Mother Theresa.. there is no good or bad about it.. just a point to ponder..

busy week ahead with plenty of meeting, project and stuff to follow up.. whee and boo at the same time.. whee cos i’m excited of my new job scope.. boo cos kinda intimidated with all those new responsibilities..

The Wake

i think only a very handful of ppl who really knew why i went back to penang on last sunday..

well, now tat everything was over, i think i can blog about it now.. actually i didnt go back penang for holiday (though i wished it was for holiday), but for my grandmother funeral.. wat is the point of telling everyone and spoiling everyone’s mood? so i just kept quiet..

nothing to be sad actually.. though my grandma passed away due to some cardiac problem, but it was not a painful death, she slipped away peacefully..

if i take away the white clothes and the altar for my grandma, the whole funeral was like a big gathering for everyone.. aunties and uncles, nephews and nieces, distant relatives tat u rarely meet, old friends of your dad tat u met once a while.. beers and foods and peanuts and mahjong and chit chat and catching up with each other.. and the funeral actually bring me closer to some of my cousins.. which i’m glad and thankful..

in fact i want my funeral to be a happy one.. i will put in my will tat all who attend my funeral to wear bright and colourful clothes, they will sing karaoke, feast and enjoy.. who said funeral must be sad and melancholy??

it is not tat i want to be disrespectful to my grandma, but i think it is a good thing.. at least after she passed away, ppl are still happy.. she always bring happiness to ppl, and after she passed away, her funeral not filled with sadness and moodiness.. of course there still was occasion where ppl sniff a little or give a soft sob.. but we will always remember her..

my grandma funeral make me realise one thing.. the ppl you love will not be with u forever.. so show them your love NOW.. dont give yourself any chance for regret.. i wanted to visit my grandma in early May.. but i didnt make it to penang.. now tat she passed away, i’ll never have the chance to visit her anymore.. kinda regret all the chances that i had but i didnt pay her a visit..

this inspired me to do something with my parents.. to show them more love and care for them more often.. i want and will be writing a biography for them.. i will find one fine days to chat with them, get them to tell me stories from their childhood, dating, marriage, my growing up periods, their retirement and everything.. i’ll compile it into a biography.. it may or may not be published.. but at least i’ll have a memoir of them when they passed away one day.. and at the same time i get to bond with them once again.. it is a big task.. but i want to do it, i can do it and i will do it, very soon!!!

Pretty Hectic Weekend

i dont see y i should be telling everyone and spoiling everyone’s mood.. i dont see y i cant be attending all those appointment tat i had made since it didnt clash with any of them.. saying i’ve urgent family matter will be good enuf..

had a quite hectic and busy day.. met up with CT in the not-so-morning morning to change the Singtel name back to mine..

then rushed to Novena to meet up with the crazy ice cream gang.. then walked all the way to my office to settle some stuff.. i hope my office didnt bore the ice cream gang..

off in a cab to the changi airport.. to get my flight ticket to Penang for the next day (today, if you are looking at the 24 hours system).. had a bowl of very salty laksa too..

then off again in a cab to Serangoon Garden Country Club for RSPHI election cum appreciation..

Chomp Chomp after tat for some ‘tang he’ which didnt really satisfy my appetite..

will be away from Singapore till Wednesday.. hopefully will be back by Wednesday night..

something to be happy about, and, in fact i told a few people le.. i got promoted!! hahah.. and dont ask me “got pay increase or not”.. i'm not someone who put too much weight on pay.. i’m not saying pay not important, just tat not as important as other stuff tat i’m looking at..

it has been a while since my last blog entry.. kinda busy recently and also kinda ‘energy-drain’ with all the work, tuition and night classes.. haha.. but i’ll recharge.. so dont worry yeah..

the long awaited dinner with Jo, CT, WZ, and XW+her bf.. love the mojito (pronounce as MOH-HHII-TO) at South Bridge Jazz.. perfect for chatting.. nice place to just laze around.. but i still like City Space.. hahaha..

when are we having dinner again?

some drastic changes in my office.. now i’m sort of the main in-charge person.. y? cos my VP fired my supervisor.. long story.. so now all the project, big and small, are on my shoulder.. not a bad thing though, at least i got more things to do.. hahah..

the ‘almost-use-quota’ at McD with GCXY was fun.. LOL.. hope i didnt distract u from your work.. thanks for the listening ears too.. and if u ever need my ears, do not, i repeat, DO NOT hesitate to call me..

A very sinful weekend

had a very enjoyable and sinful weekend!! wohoo~~ thanks KK and LF for coming to S’pore to visit me..

the fun began on Sat night.. KK and LF arrived at S’pore.. well from JB of course.. hahah.. went to City Space to enjoy the drinks, view and fantastic company.. such a long time since last seen them.. the food was satisfying.. Jazz in the City, Bloody Mary, Margarita, Sauza Threesome and of course my all time favourite, Kilkenny.. chatted and played and crazy together till almost 4am!! gosh~~

Sun was shopping day.. KK was so keen on Topman.. LOL.. and i dont understand y would someone spend about 10 for a plain T-shirt.. well, if tat makes him happy, so be it..

went to Tampines 1 with them too.. not really tat big leh.. kinda small in fact.. but the crowd, oh gosh, was disgusting.. we spend about 30 mins in the darn carpark trying to get a space.. LOL

and i finally saw the ice-cream making machine tat i’m looking for.. but it is so small only.. only 1.5 quart.. which is about 500ml only.. *sigh*

oh, and how can i forget tat LF is working in food production and manufacturing industry? so glad tat she supported my ice-cream business idea.. wohoo~~ and she can help me with lotsa stuff!! hahah..

the sinful weekend ended with crab beehoon, and other ‘zhi char’ items with LF, KK and LF’s uncle and auntie.. wohoo~~ the food not bad.. LOL..

friends forever yeah.. okay, it sounds corny.. but who cares.. FRIENDS FOREVER!! LOVE YEAH!! =)

a random grumbling about the H1N1 (WP), a reminder to herself (MC), a quiz about how well you know someone (HH), an opinion about her own self (OL), a quiz about a chinese name for you (WC), comment about an irritating colleague (OL), the weather in Mt. Fuji (Gen), a grumbling about wat she is doing at 2.57am (WP) and a comment about what she misses (WC) can generate more comments and thoughts from other ppl than a plea for donation..

on my way back, i went to Harvey Norman and Best.. i’m looking for a ice-cream making machine.. sadly they dont have.. anybody knows where i can get a consumer ice-cream making machine? the inspiration to make ice-cream and start a ice-cream parlour is boiling in me.. hahaha..

i’m so determined to start my business now.. but i wonder how long it will last.. hahaha.. and how far i will go.. only time will tell..

spent a little money today though.. Latte Factor again.. bought a DVD set.. The Adventure of Merlin.. simply cant help myself when it comes to shows with sorcery, witchcraft, magic and related stuff.. wohoo~~ gonna put it in my ipod touch and watch it during the bus rides, mrt rides etc.. hahaha..

finally i finished up the whole box of donuts.. kinda sick of it now.. diabetic!!

and i’m home alone for a few weekends.. sad.. my younger sis went to china for holiday.. the tenants will go back home on weekends.. so i’m all home alone on weekends.. bohoo..

oh yeah, finally i got my S’pore PR.. wohoo~~ finally i can get to borrow books from NLB for FREE.. hahah.. and of course the other benefits like CPF and stuff.. in fact, i’ll head to the library right after i blog.. haha..

a surprised visit to auntie workplace yesterday.. all thanks to my tuition kid for cancelling the tuition.. hahah.. bi-a-tch-ing was fun..

too bad my donuts were left almost untouched.. so i’ll have to finish it all off.. hahah.. 9 donuts all to myself.. wohoo~~ diabetic soon..

spend a little too much yesterday.. must remind myself of the Latte Factor!! arrgghh.. but i’ve been good these days.. i kept a log of all my spending!!
